Thought we'd share this image of some of our new creations made with our new block toy FaceMaker. All these faces were made with one set. We are super excited to be taking trade orders at Home London 15-17th Jan and Maison & Objet Paris 20-24th Jan. We can't wait to see what faces everyone makes. Another cool thing is that ShapeMaker (our first block toy) and FaceMaker can be combined for even more possibilities.

We are very proud to announce the launch of our new book for Tate Publishing called "Faces". Its been one of the hardest but most rewarding projects to date. Hence lack of blog posts

Book Description.

Faces are all around us, everywhere we look. On every page of this inspiring and imaginative book the reader will encounter unusual and creative ways of making faces, using printing, collage, geometric shapes and sculpture. Surprising details are revealed by lifting flaps, looking through holes or turning the book upside-down. As well as being entertaining and engaging, "Faces" offers an insight into major modern art movements, including pop art, op art, abstraction, junk art and kinetic sculpture. The book's designers reference key artists, including Alexander Calder, Joan Miro, and Eduardo Paolozzi as well as graphic designers of the 1950s and '60s.

We have always wondered what our toys would look like as larger scale objects - we dream of a wooden adventure playground full of large scale PlayShapes which children can interact with. Until then we are pleased to show you a small step in that direction.

XXL ShapeMaker seen next to a standard sized one is made of solid rubberwood each cube measures 10x10x10cm, the total dimensions are 520mmx520mmx105mm. It comes in a Wooden frame which can be either hung on a strong wall or placed on a shelf or floor, an everchanging sculptural piece. Price £595.

XXL PlayShapes is our favourite sculptural character he is 200% Larger. Seen standing next to a standard version. He stands one metre tall 62mm deep and Mounted on birch ply. POA

Our New toy PlayShapes Launches

We are very proud to announce the launch of our new wooden toy at Tent London 2009.

PlayShapes is a modular set of 74 geometric wooden shapes which can be endlessly arranged or stacked to produce hundreds of 3D creations. The smooth shapes, with flashes of colour are pleasingly crafted in rubberwood which can also be used as drawing templates. The intrinsic simplicity of the product and clarity of design, freely allows children and adults alike to fully engage in the wonderment and joy of the creative process.

The set of shapes come in a box along with a printed, unbleached cotton drawstring bag and a set of illustrations. Box size L 21cm x W 19cm x H 15cm Weight 3kgs

We got Gold

We are very proud to have received a gold award for ShapeMaker with a score from the judges of 94% at the 2009 Practical Pre-School awards, This is our first industry toy award.

The awards are tested by professionals in the childcare sector and children themselves across several categories. What the testers said: "Children Loved this product, with the young ones making pictures from the patterned blocks and the older ones timing each other to see who was fastest. There were lots of different pictures to create, which really tested the children's thought processes as they had to get specific bricks for each picture. It promoted good team work and sharing skills, with the children taking it in turns to find pieces and choose pictures to put together. An all round great product."
